SEA-ARMi 1st Online Training
SEA-ARMi 1st Online Training
The Southeast Asia Antifungal Resistance Monitoring Initiative (SEA-ARMi) successfully launched its first online training session on metagenomics preprocessing, focusing on data curation and primary data analysis.
Metagenomics preprocessing is a critical step in transforming raw sequencing data into high-quality datasets suitable for downstream analyses. The training covered essential quality control procedures, data curation strategies, and computational workflows designed to minimize technical noise while preserving biologically meaningful information.
Participants were introduced to an integrated workflow for analyzing WHO Fungal Priority Pathogens (WHO FPPL) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) genes. The tutorial assumes that raw sequencing reads have already been processed into count tables and focuses on the subsequent bioinformatics analyses.
The training materials include:
- Pipeline overview
- High-Performance Computing Cluster (HPCC) setup
- Shell scripting - R-based data analysis and visualization
- Detailed step-by-step scripts and documentation
