Hi, I’m Sivalingam Periyasamy, a postdoc in Nuttapon’s group. I hold a PhD in Biotechnology and a Master’s in Biotechnology from Bharathiar University. With over 10 years of experience in the field of environmental microbiology, I have conducted research across Europe and China. I am a recipient of the prestigious MSCA and Swiss Government Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowships. My research centers on environmental antimicrobial resistance within a One Health framework, focusing on how anthropogenic influence shapes the selection and persistence of antimicrobial resistance genes in the environment. In Nuttapon’s group, I study microbiomes and resistomes in marine beaches, mangroves, and river ecosystems of Thailand.
